Our Story began at the Carpenter Real Estate Client Party on July 28, 2012. We chatted and enjoyed the fireworks and wine. After a fun after party at Bimini’s we parted ways. Liesl went to Naramata the next day for the remainder of the summer and Brett embarked on his new job adventure. We owe many thanks to James who gave Brett Liesl’s number. The texting (at that time BBM’ing) was constant throughout the whole time Liesl was away. The day Liesl returned from the lake she agreed to meet Brett for drinks at Charles Bar. The date was going so well that it continued to Relish where Brett met all of Liesl’s friends. From that date on, we have been inseparable.

Over the Labour Day long weekend Liesl and Brett were on his sailboat in Navy Channel when he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Lucky for him she said yes. So here we are …

Liesl

Liesl is a grade one teacher with the Vancouver School Board. She grew up in Vancouver and studied Education at the University of Victoria. She recently completed her Masters in Education from Simon Fraser University. Her proud parents, Steven and Judy, split their time between Vancouver, Naramata and Palm Springs.

Brett

Brett is a mobile developer at a small tech start-up called Tribal Interactive. He grew up in Surrey and is the current president of the Vancouver Southsiders. He attended the University of Victoria where he studied Computer Science & Mathematics where he received a Bachelor of Science. His parents, Bruce and Judy, are avid boaters who have recently retired to Pender Island.
